Microsoft Azure Multi Factor Authentication
Microsoft Azure two-step or multi factor authentication is a user validation method that requires more than one verification method and adds a critical second layer of security to user sign-ins and transactions. It works by requiring any two or more of the following user verification methods:
- Something you know (typically a password)
- Something you have (a trusted device that is not easily duplicated, like a mobile phone)
- Something you are (biometrics)
Get strong authentication with a range of easy verification options – phone call, text message or mobile app notification – and allow customers to choose the method they prefer. A good example of multi factor authentication is how a lot of UK banks now authenticate account changes or transactions online by sending the user a code in a text message to validate the process.
