I never really set out to work in IT as I always focused more towards graphic design. However, I’ve always had an interest in technology and when a friend from college started at IT Champion, I received a call asking if I wanted to apply for an apprenticeship. Two years later, and I still sit next to that friend (Luke).
When I started my apprenticeship, I was mainly tasked with creating the perfect cup of coffee for the team, and answering calls. I have come a long way since then, and I am now second line support working on some of the more challenging IT support tickets.
I have learnt a lot in the past two years at IT Champion and have received qualifications in both Altaro Backup and Installing and Configuring Microsoft Windows 10. These qualifications and my work experience have allowed me to confidently support Windows 10 and manage backups with Altaro.
I enjoy being in the office as I have a good relationship with everyone at IT Champion, even though it can get quite stressful with what seems like endless amount of support calls and tickets. However, the atmosphere is always friendly and relaxed, and everyone is always willing to help each other when needed.
In my spare time, although I am constantly asked to help with family/friend’s IT issues, I try to avoid PC’s as much as possible. I enjoy playing basketball with friends and I am a bit of a petrol head, often driving and tinkering with my car. When I’m not meeting friends, I am with my girlfriend either catching up on Netflix or going for a long walk.
