Microsoft Teams Rooms deliver frictionless, easy to use spaces with high-quality audio and video that are designed to transform meeting rooms into interactive spaces where participants in or out of the room can experience interactive and collaborative meetings together.
As with many products in Microsoft’s 365 suite of licenses, Teams Rooms comes in two versions, Teams Rooms standard and Teams Rooms premium.

Plans and licensing for Teams Rooms
Teams Rooms standard
Teams standard comes with almost all the licenses needed to make your Teams Rooms function. These include:
- Microsoft Teams licence
- Microsoft 365 Phone system licence
- Microsoft 365 Audio conferencing licence
- Microsoft Intune device licence
- Whiteboard plan 3 license
- Microsoft Skype for Business Online (Plan 2)
A calling plan from Microsoft or another vendor is still required. Microsoft offers domestic calling plans with 120, 1200 or domestic and international calling plans*.

* Microsoft calling plans minutes are pooled per plan type. For example, if an organisation has 10 x 1200 minute domestic calling plan licenses, the monthly shared minutes would be 12000 minutes / 60 hours. Minutes from alternative plans are only pooled with their own plan type. Prices are based on an annual commitment.
Teams Rooms premium
Teams Rooms premium add additional device management and a Microsoft managed service for supporting premium Teams Rooms environments. In addition to Teams standard, with the premium plan you get:

- Dedicated experts
A team of Microsoft experts provide 24/7, tiered support and resolution assistance. This includes incidence diagnostics, automated and supports engineer based troubleshooting and a single point of escalation.
