When did you join IT Champion?

I joined IT Champion on 1st September 2014

Has your role changed since you first joined?

Massively – I first joined IT Champion as an apprentice, but after 4 years of working in different roles within the company, I am now the Support Team Lead.

As an apprentice, I was tasked with building and fixing PC’s brought into the workshop, and of course tasked with creating the perfect cup of coffee (which if you ask me, weren’t too bad!).

However, I now work within the Helpdesk fixing issues and helping to ensure we have the correct people in place to help organise the day to day issues of a growing team.

Would you recommend doing an apprenticeship to others?

I couldn’t recommend it enough. This apprenticeship has not only given me a career I can dedicate myself to and build on, but through this I have made great friends, and even better memories!

What’s a typical day for you at IT Champion?

A typical day for me consists of dealing with issues on Helpdesk, helping to ensure the team are organised and happy, and finding out who’s making the next round of hot drinks – the latter being the most difficult task of the day.

What’s your favourite part of your role?

It sounds cliché but my favourite part of my role is helping people. From dealing with clients helping to fix their issues, to helping the team with any questions or queries they may have.

What’s the most challenging part of your role?

We have a team of brilliant people who all work so well together, and because of this I would find it difficult to pick something challenging in my job role. There are challenging aspects of the job of course, but all of these become easy to deal with when working with such a well-polished team.
