Microsoft has supported the digital transformation of charities and not-for-profit organisations for the last decade – with generous grants towards the cost of Azure Cloud.

In a recent announcement, Microsoft has reviewed the level of support stating that from Sunday, 1 October 2023, Azure sponsorship credits will be reduced from USD 3,500 to USD 2,000 annually.

If you are a charity or not-for-profit that partners with us for your Azure cloud or Microsoft licences, we may have already reached out to talk about this change, but if you have questions about how your current grant allowance will change, give us a call.

Microsoft’s announcement reads:

“Ten years after we launched the first Office 365 Nonprofit Cloud grant for the nonprofit sector, Microsoft Philanthropies remains committed to doubling the number of nonprofits that we support with the Microsoft Cloud. To ensure we’re maximizing our grant strategy and updating our grant portfolio with this change:

Effective October 1, 2023, the Azure grant is now USD 2,000. You’ll no longer be able to renew at the previous Azure grant level, and at the next grant renewal on or after October 1, 2023, you’ll be granted USD 2,000 of Azure sponsorship credits annually as long as you remain eligible to receive such grants.

For support, engage Microsoft partners who are experts in the latest tools and resources to help you plan and implement your digital transformation.”
